Figure 1. Measurement of serum levels of Th1 and Th2 cytokines showed that IFN-γ and IL-2 are increased in the acute phase, and immediately decreased during the early recovery phase. In contrast, IL-10 is increased at the early recovery phase. Serum cytokine milieu well correlated with Th1/Th2 balance of CD4+ T cells.
